Regild Century 1014, 1,014 years after the end of the Universal Century. Man is trying to repopulate the planet without using taboo technology, since it nearly brought about the destruction of the human race.
Situated around the Capital Tower is an orbital elevator that is used to supply the planet with resources such as photon batteries. Protecting this elevator is the Capital Guard and a young talented recruit Bellri Zenam (Mark Ishii, When Marnie Was There) is on a training mission to work on the umbilical cords of the elevator.
The cadets disembark at the first Nut (stage of the elevator) and head into space just as space pirates in mechs start attacking a descending elevator. The cadets leap into action and take on the pirates. During this, Bellri is attacked by a highly manoeuvrable mobile suit named G-self and piloted by a female known as Aida Surugan (Yu Shimamura, Attack on Titan).
Bellri manages to defeat G-Self and capture Aida, he jumps into G-self and to everyone’s surprise it accepts him and powers up and he goes off to defeat the other pirates.
The G-Self recognises only three people Aida, Bellri and a strange girl that had jumped out of a similar Mecha a few days before whilst at high altitude. She suffers from memory loss and a speech impediment, they name her Raraiya Monday (Yukari Fukui, Kill la Kill) and she joins the assembled cadets and hostages and the cheerleader Noredo Nug (Minako Kotobuki, K-On!, A Certain Scientific Railgun).
