Every Gamer’s Dream.

This catchy title is an adaption of the Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Suzu Enoshima and illustrated by Eihi, this Blu-ray is the anime television series adaptation produced by Tezuka Productions. Being a lifelong gamer, this scenario is what gamers dream of, and every gamer will feel an affinity with this story, young or experienced.

 

High school students Shihono Kobayashi and Aoto Endoare members of the school broadcasting club. Endo hangs around the broadcast club because he has a secret crush on Kobayashi, and we think it is a two-way street of affection, but both are to shy to say anything. It is when they have a load of spare time that Kobayashi suggest that Endo helps her have another play-through of her favourite video game  “A Magical Romance.” A game where there are attractive male characters  (The Captures), and the main character Lieselotte “Liese” Riefenstahl, as Kobayashi explains she is a fated character who will be turned into a monster by a witch if she follows her fated path, with the main capture Prince Siegwald “Sieg” Fitzenhagen.

As they play Kobayashi points out that there is another character at the Royal Academy of Magic, Fiene a commoner girl who for some reason possesses the ability to wield magic. This really annoys Liese, who thinks that the academy should just be for the high-born like herself.

Endo and Kobayashi see all this going on, and start commenting on the events unfolding before them, so Endo starts doing a running commentary and Kobayashi talks tactics. Endo thinks Liese’s standoffishness is her being misunderstood, so he starts tell anybody who is listening that what she really wants to be friends with Fiene and her fiancé Sieg.

The thing is that Sieg can hear the pair, even though there is no voice recognition in the game, Sieg thinks he has been blessed by her holiness Lirenna the goddess of light, Realising that he has Sieg’s ear, Endo tells him to Kiss Liese, shocked by the forthright approach he hesitantly gives her a peck on the cheek.

Maybe we can save her.

The only one that can save her from her that fate is you, Sieg.

Now they know that they are able to influence the game in real time, Kobayashi wants to make sure Liese doesn’t succumb to her fate with the witch of Yore, and all the other Captures Professor Leon Schache and Fabian Oltenburg.

Playing A Magical Romance is a fun lighthearted romance anime with the added twist of it being a computer game, can our heros save everybody and get a very happy magical happy ending?
