4 star energetic and chaotic rock fest.

The Vampire Lestat is a 2026 American gothic horror TV show and the third instalment  in the Anne Rice‘s Interview With the Vampire series. It is set in Rice’s Immortal Universe (Mayfair Witches, Talamasca: The Secret Order, The Vampire Chronicles), a shared setting with her other novels.

It is available in the UK on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital from 2nd November 2026. As it is the third series, it is highly recommended to watch seasons one and two first. All three are available as part of the Anne Rice’s Interview With the Vampire Collection, available in the UK from 23rd November 2026, courtesy of AMC.

“Say cabbage one more goddam time!”

As the series opens, we see an auction, attended by both Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson – Game of Thrones, Bad Apples) and Armand (Assad Zaman – Hotel Portofino (TV Series)), both obviously injured. On sale, a huge elaborate music box containing a collection of works by now rock star Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid – The Legend of Molly Johnson, Standing Up For Sunny) titled The Failures. These contents of these albums serve as the narration for the story, leading up to an undisclosed global catastrophe, springing from his tour.

The book written about the vampires by Daniel Malloy (Eric Bogosian – Uncut Gems, Reptile), based on the recollections of Louis, has been released without anyone’s consent and it’s fair to say that Lestat is not happy with his portrayal. He decides to form a band and releases an album called “The Vampire Lestat”. Daniel (now a vampire himself) accompanies the band on tour, to film a documentary to accompany his book, with Lestat as a fictional character. Through The Failures we learn about Lestat’s childhood and his relationship with his mother (and first fledgling) Gabriella (Jennifer Ehle – In Transit, East of Wall) now going by Sofia and also joining them on the tour.

The band, consisting of guitarist and former front man Larry (Noah Reid – Buffaloed) and his brother Alex (Seamus Patterson – Seance), bassist Salamander (Ryan Kattner – Woe) and drummer T.C. (Sarah Swire – Anna and the Apocalypse)  have no idea, at least in the beginning, that their lead singer is actually a vampire and their tour gets off to a slow start. But as momentum grows, it builds towards an inevitable and catastrophic conclusion.

“All beside the point. Because the point was, the point forever is, most of humanity moved on from vampires, and rather quickly.”

The Vampire Lestat is a rollercoaster ride of a series, featuring fast paced rock and roll action as well as plenty of blood soaked recollections and rampages. It has a very different feel to the first two seasons, Louis had a rather moody story telling style, whereas Lestat is full of sound and fury.

The acting performances are excellent and Sam Reid really stands out, singing and performing all of the songs himself and bringing an amazing depth of emotion and trauma to the larger than life Lestat. With lots of special features, this is fantastic release and a must own for fans of the Immortal Universe.

“This isn’t 1979, Bela Lugosi isn’t dead, you don’t need to finger her for five bars, you’re hurting her.”

The Vampire Lestat is available to own now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital.
