4 star outrageously brilliant Nazi killing fest.

Dick Dynamite: 1944 is a 2025 independent horror/comedy film, written, directed and edited by Robbie ‘Steele’ Dickenson in a quite astonishing feature debut.

Entirely self and crowd funded, this gleefully crude passion project is available to own from 5th May 2025 on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital, courtesy of Dazzler Media.

“Do you still want us not to kill the children? Do something, they are almost upon us.”

The year is 1944 and following the Allied invasion the Nazi’s are becoming increasingly desperate. They have come up with a dastardly plan involving a new and cruel biological weapon, the ‘Wunderwaffe’. All of this is being overseen by the ruthless and brutal SS Colonel Maximilian Schtacker (Olly Bassi – Virtual Vendetta), Hitler’s right hand man.

Meanwhile, in prison for a baffling array of atrocities committed against Nazi’s, one man army Dick Dynamite (Snars) is approached with a deal, a dangerous mission which would get his slate wiped clean. He’s happy to accept and heads off to get his instructions.

His mission, to gather intel about top secret German aircraft the ‘Uber Bomber’ a.k.a. ‘Die Amerika Bomber’. To help him out he has been assigned a dubious but dedicated team. They are Napalm Jeff (AF Moore) the Alabama Arsonist, lifelong gangster Brooklynn (Mark Burdett), mad Scotts Brigadier Tam the Bam (Leftie Wright), Doc (Robert Williamson – Night Kaleidoscope), Lucas from Tucas (Brian Jamieson) with his mad knife skills and last but not least, the magnificently titled Mother F*****r (Craig Costello).

Together, this rag tag bunch strike out across a continent which is definitely not ready for them, helped along the way by newbie Wakowski (Adam Harper), British officer Dash Dalton (Shaun Davidson) and his contact Agent Jennings (Valerie Birss). They will face Ninja’s, snipers, zombies and everything in between!

“Dick, we’re offering you the deal of  a lifetime. We’re gonna send you on a death defying mission that’s gonna overturn your court martial. Needless to say, this conversation never happened.”

Dick Dynamite is a fantastic film, really good fun to watch from start to finish. The lack of budget doesn’t seem to have held it back at all, the story and script are brilliant, crude and childish as heck but hilarious and extremely satisfying. There is also an amazing score which sets the scene perfectly. It feels as if it managed to achieve everything that Inglourious Basterds wanted to do, but in a fun and exceedingly sweary way.

The acting is for the most part very good, ultra cheesy and what the cast lack in experience, they more than make up for in enthusiasm. The locations used are excellent too, the disused airfields look very authentic and the set dressing is really clever. The use of innovative camera angles really adds interest too.

There are lots of stunts and fight sequences, very well worked out and plenty of cheap but effective special effects which seem to consist mostly of paint balls with bits in and squishy melons. The action is non stop, fast paced and frankly quite hard to keep up with in places. It’s very violent, so not for the squeamish, but if you enjoy the idea of finding lots of ways to kill Nazi’s as much as we did then this one is well worth adding to your collection.

“Ladies and gentlemen, that concludes our mission briefing. Now let’s start a war!”
