Off Grid and Off Their Heads.

Or

What we did during Lockdown.

What do you do when the country starts going into the unknown Pandemic lockdown? Well, writer director Kevin Allen (Under Milk Wood, Y Syrcas) decides to create a bubble and get the family and his friends from Twin Town to shoot this quirky British comedy, shot entirely on an iPhone using Moondog anamorphic lenses, and teaching a lot of people the art of filmmaking.

Sex ‘n Bugs ‘n Sausage Rolls…

Solti Buttering (Liam Hourican, Song of the Sea, The Secret of Kells) has had a traumatic time, and now it is time to get away. The best way to do that is to buy an SUV and a load of camping gear and head off to the Gower peninsula (Wales, UK) to find a fitting place to spread his grandfathers ashes.

Time and time again he finds that there is no room at any campsites, and as he drives in the dark he finds one last place, La Cha Cha Farm campsite. With no one in the makeshift office he follows the sound of music coming from the dark.

He finds a bunch of eclectics, in various states of undress, and his presence is not welcomed, especially from co-owner Damien Rees (Sonny Ashbourne Serkis, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Child 44), but his sister Libby (Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, The Letter for the King (TV Series)) is much more accommodating to this wayward Irishman.

Not every old goat wants to lose their marbles in some sh*t-dump, smelly care home.

There is something going on in the La Cha Cha camping site that Solti doesn’t know about, but the signs are there, such as that everybody scrambles to the airfield next door, when a light aircraft flies over (identified by Solti as a Tomahawk T2 112 horsepower flat four). The reason for the commotion is that Dooty Davies (Alfie Allen, John Wick, Game of Thrones (TV Series)) has just flown in from foreign parts. He hands over a large bag to Libby and everyone is happy.

But very soon things turn dark as Dooty is found not living anymore and the blame is put on the stranger who now has a vehicle that no longer runs. All things are coming to a head for Libby as there are people trying to take La Cha Cha from her and her crusties. How can Solti save the day?

Tank Capacity is not sex.

La Cha Cha is a slow starter, but it is a tonic for the soul, and with the right twist in your sobriety, you’ll soon be laughing out aloud, and by the end you’ll be wanting to watch it again and again.

La Cha Cha is available for digital download.
