One Move is Harder Than All the Rest
MVM brings us a series that will settle you down ready for a game of Shogi (Japanese chess) and maybe a bit of romance. Taken from the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Sōichirō Yamamoto (Teasing Master Takagi-san (TV Series), In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki (TV Series)). Teenage love is a difficult endeavour, here are five hours 0f teenage angst.
Ayumu Tanaka (Yôhei Azakami, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle) has finished middle school, where he was good at Kendo, and now as a first year student at high school his friend Takeru Kakuryu (Tsubasa Gôden,
Classroom of the Elite (TV Series), Akiba Maid War (TV Series)) expected him to carry on with the Kendo. But he met the creator of the unofficial Shogi club Urushi Yaotome (Kanna Nakamura, Secrets of the Silent Witch (TV Series), I Have a Crush at Work (TV Series)) (aka Senpai), and instantly he has a crush on her, and he becomes the second member of the Shogi club.
The thing is that Urushi is really good at Shogi, and always beats Ayumu, much to his annoyance as he won’t confess hiss love for her when he beats her, therein lies the problem. He always compliments her and makes her blush, as she repeatedly tries to get him to confess his love for, so that she can tell him she feels the same way about him.
It’s amazing what can make a teenager jealous. Will Ayumu ever win and confess, and will Urushi ever get the four members to make her Shogi club official? Sit back and listen to the firm clack of the Shogi pieces.
