The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 Review****-

4 stars, the journey home continues.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 is a 2025 spin off from the popular The Walking Dead franchise, created by David Zabel.

This post-apocalyptic American TV Series continues on directly from the end of Season 2 so it is highly recommended to familiarise yourself with that before watching this one.

It is available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital from 8th December 2025, courtesy of Acorn Media International. The Series 1 – 3 Box set is also available.

“Hot Dogs.”

Following a harrowing trek through the Chunnel, Daryl (Norman Reedus – The Bikeriders, Death Stranding (Video Game)) and Carol (Melissa McBride – The Mist, Living Proof) have finally arrived in London. However, it is completely overrun with walkers and they soon become trapped in a high rise building. Here they encounter the very strange Julian (Stephen Merchant – Jojo Rabbit, Fighting With My Family), who believes he is the last Englishman in England.

Upon finding out that he knows where there is a sailing boat, they persuade him to join them in attempting to sail back to America. Due to a heady mix of incompetence and weather, they are shipwrecked and washed up on shores unknown. With Julian dead and Carol badly injured, they encounter a young couple, Roberto (Hugo Arbues – Through My Window) and Justina (Candela Saitta – Maxima (TV Series)) being set upon by bandits.

They reluctantly agree to take them back to the community they were fleeing, Solaz del Mar, so that Carol can receive medical treatment.

They are not well received by the leader Federico (Óscar Jaenada – The Losers, Snatched), but Roberto’s father Antonio (Eduardo Noriega – Vantage Point, Open Your Eyes) takes them in and agrees to help them to fix the boat. When they realise that Federico has been trading the community’s girls to a group called El Alcázar, led by Guillermo (Gonzalo Bouza – Marco Polo) in a ritual know as La Ofrenda, interfering in local affairs becomes inevitable.

“Hot Dogs.”

This is a thoroughly entertaining series and a brilliant continuation of the story.

With stunning Spanish backdrops and lots of fun new ideas, as well as great special effects and plenty of action, it is one of the best The Walking Dead series for a while. There are some very inventive walker shots, including a walker powered train and (my own personal favourite) walker cabaret.

It’s really good to see the characters evolve and we learn loads more about Daryl and Carol, as the spin off gives them the chance to breathe and become main characters in their own right. A must own for fans of the franchise.

“And don’t just say Hot Dogs.”
