4 star clever and unusual slasher flick.
Marshmallow is a 2025 American horror, sci-fi film, written by Andy Greskoviak (Black Friday) and directed by Daniel DelPurgatorio (Tales of the Black Freighter).
It is available to own in the UK on Blu-ray from 14th September 2026, courtesy of Toy Robot Video.

Morgan (Kue Lawrence – Sketch, The School Duel) is a shy and introverted twelve year old boy, who lives with his parents and grandfather Roy (Corbin Bernsen – Major League, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), with whom he is very close. Besieged by nightmares of drowning in water coming from his own body, and sporting an unfortunate pudding basin haircut, he struggles to make friends and communicate with others.
He is dismayed when his parents announce that he is to attend summer camp, believing he won’t enjoy the experience. Roy convinces him that it will be okay and then unfortunately keels over and dies. In a magnificent display of coldness, his parents pack him off to camp anyway. 
They arrive at Camp Almar, run by Camp Director Collins (Paul Soter – Super Troopers, Beerfest) and to Morgan’s surprise he makes some friends almost immediately, with a young girl named Pilar (Kai Cech – Ba, Dear Santa). He also hits it off with Dirk (Max Malas – Kinda Pregnant, World’s Best) a kid being targeted by camp helper Kaszwar (Pierson Fode – Swiped, The Wrong Paris). Unfortunately, he is targeted himself by his angry cabin mate C. J. (Sutton Johnston – Logan Lucky, Greener Grass).
Around the campfire, a scary tale is told by camp helper Rachael (Giorgia Whigham – What We Found), about a Doctor who used to live in a cabin where Camp Almar is now. Although Franklin (Maxwell Whittington-Cooper – Babygirl, Stay Awake) insists that it’s a tool to keep students in their cabins after curfew, will this year’s campers discover a darker truth?

Marshmallow is an excellent film, well written and very well thought out. The acting performances are superb and the script gives them plenty to work with.
It is an unusual take on a summer camp horror, totally unique and genuinely scary in both concept and execution.
The twists come thick and fast and the final revelation is truly horrifying and completely unpredictable. With lots of special features, this package from Toy Robot is fantastic and well worth adding to your collection.
