The Ultimate Bruce Lee

Arrow Video bring us the legend that was Bruce Lee (The Green Hornet (TV Series), Batman (TV Series)) when he was at Golden Harvest Productions. From his first starring role in ‘The Big Boss’ through to ‘The Game of Death II’. All in glorious 4K UHD, packed with a plethora of special features (See Below). With his mastery of his ‘Jeet Kune Do’ fighting technique, he still astounds audiences to this day and beyond. This release will give you more bangs for your bucks.

The Big Boss sees Lee take on his first starring role as the young man with a vow of non-violence, that is until his cousins start disappearing at the local ice company. Where the Big Boss (Ying-Chieh Han, Fist of Fury, The One Armed Swordsmen) has some very dodgy dealings going on, and he has a lot of tough thugs to protect him. This release also sees the Mandarin Cut with ten minutes of extra gory death scenes, for the first time in the UK.

Fists of Fury, once again Lee teams up with writer/director Wei Lo (The Invincible Eight, Back Alley Princess) for this action, drama, martial arts fest, with a little romance thrown in for good measure. But Chen Zhen’s life is turned upside down when he finds out that his Sifu has died, and it is a suspicious death, plus the Japanese dojo taunts the Chinese. Bad luck for them.

Way of the Dragon sees Lee write, direct, and star in this foreign escapade in Rome, as Tang Lung visits his relatives at their restaurant that is being harassed. The crime boss wants the restaurant, and he will do anything to get it. It is  great to see all the deleted nunchuck scenes in crispy 4K. Also the legend Chuck Norris take on the great man, in the final fight scene.

The Game of Death, another of Lee’s films where he had full control, but his untimely death saw the film unfinished, and it took Enter the Dragon director Robert Clouse (Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, China O’Brien) to finish it. It is Boss fight time, every gamer since the start of computer games knows the Boss fight scenario. And Lee has to fight his way through ten levels of ever increasingly difficult level bosses. Iconic.

Finally, The Game of Death II, where more of Bruce Lee’s previous footage is used to have Billy Lo die and his brother Bobby (Tae-jeong Kim, No Retreat, No Surrender, Game of Death) to seek vengeance, with lots more of Bruce Lee’s amazing talents that was cut short many years before, a true testament to his amazing talents and his on-screen charisma.

Bruce Lee at Golden Harvest Limited Edition 4K UHD is a true tribute to the man, the legend that was Bruce Lee. Now in 4K UHD, it is a must own for those that remember those skills back in the day and those just setting out to get their black-belts. This is a must own.
