Telling the Tale of Woe.
This short film comes from young Tofic Rzayez (The Incomplete) a writer, director, producer, cinematographer, editor, actor, camera and electrical department. With the original music by Gergö Elekes (Bodom) lending to the tension of the Short.
A man with ambitions of showing his work at the famous Sundance film festival and he is well on the way to realising his dream with his latest work, Akibet.
Aftermath deals with Brother (Berkan Uygun) and Sister Damla (Gizem Aybike Sahin) and how they get on with their lives after the death of their parents. This is where Tofic‘s filming style shows as we get the feeling that their parents were taken from them suddenly and the wrench is palpable as we watch how the pair deal with each other and how they deal with their own grief, with Damla wanting to talk it through, whilst her brother wants to shut everything off.
At eight minutes long it packs in a lot of emotion and results in how we deal with grief, especially that of parental loss.
