4 star high-octane high-stakes heist film.

Den of Thieves: Pantera is a 2025 American action crime drama, written and directed by Christian Gudegast (London Has Fallen, A Man Apart). It is the sequel to the highly popular 2018 Den of Thieves and is produced by Fifty Cent.

It is streaming exclusively on Prime Video from 25th April 2025, courtesy of Signature Entertainment.

“These streets. They’re different. They’re old. The ties are deep and hidden. It’s where the East claws at the West. Where the South seeks the North. There’s honour here that must be respected.”

Carrying on from the end of Den of Thieves, Big Nick (Gerard ButlerPlane, Chasing Mavericks) is supremely annoyed at being given the slip by Donnie (O’Shea Jackson Jr.Straight Outta Compton, Cocaine Bear). His life is falling apart as he’s been benched by the police department and divorced by his wife. His interest is piqued by a diamond heist in Brussels, this looks like the work of Donnie, so he turns to F.B.I. agent Bob (Jordan Bridges – Assisting Venus) for help.

He puts him in touch with French Police Chief and head of the Pantera taskforce Hugo Kaman (Yasen Zates Atour – When the Screaming Starts), who believes the heist was carried out by an Eastern European gang known as the Panthers, led by Jovanna (Evin Ahmad – Call Mom!, Girls of the Sun). He spots him on the CCTV footage, and realises Donnie is involved, but by this time he has come up with a plan.

Donnie has set himself up at the Nice Diamond Bourse with the help of Sightholder Chava (Nazmiye Oral – Propaganda) and is preparing to rob the World Diamond Centre, with the help of Jovanna and her gang, Slavko (Salvatore Esposito – The Perfect Dinner), Dragan (Orli Shuka – Black Bag), Marko (Dino Kelly – Seize Them!) and Vuk (Velibor Topic – Kingdom of Heaven). Nick has decided if you can’t beat them join them and forces Donnie to include him in the gang, so he can share the cut.

Unfortunately for all concerned, one of the diamonds stolen from the plane belongs to Mafia leader The Octopus (Adriano Chiaramida – Superluna) and he wants it back. Can this unlikely group beat the odds and pull of this daring heist?

“We’ll meet the fence this afternoon. She’s a Sightholder and she’ll arrange office space for you. And we’ve sanitised the whole flat, so you’re good to go. Welcome to Nice, Jean Jacques.”

Den of Thieves: Pantera is an excellent watch and a great idea for a story. Having a buddy story between and cop and a criminal, working together, really adds a new element and changes things up.

The acting is superb and the locations are stunning, taking us right across the Mediterranean. The first half of the film is packed with action and noise, but as we get to the heist itself, it is a little more measured and thoughtful, not relying on sound and thunder for effect and it works really well.

The vibe is great too, watching Gerard Butler get wasted is highly entertaining and this film never takes itself too seriously, it’s got plenty of comedy moments in among all the action. Very enjoyable and well worth a watch.

“Your safe. You dial in your own personal code here. But, you could leave it open to be honest. You are in the most secure building in Continental Europe.”

Den of Thieves: Pantera is streaming exclusively on Prime Video from 25th April 2025.
