5 star remastered Blu-ray and DVD release of the BBC classic series.

Maigret: The Complete Series is based on the best selling books by Georges Simenon. There have been many adaptations over the years but this BAFTA winning portrayal of the character by Rupert Davies (Joe 90, War and Peace) is arguably the best.

Following the sell out success of the Limited Edition boxset, the Standard Edition Blu-ray and DVD are due to be released in the UK on 25th Oct 2021, exclusively through Network.

“Well, we have a crime to solve. I can’t tell you much about it, because in fact there is no crime. No crime, no motive, no criminal, no victim.”

Commissaire Jules Maigret (Rupert Davies) is a detective in the police force of Paris. Living with his lovely wife and rock Madame Maigret (Helen Shingler – Couples) he solves the many crimes which take place in the city of Paris.

Helping him in his endeavors are the capable and dependable Lucas (Ewen Solon – The Revenue Men) and the less experienced but enthusiastic Lapointe (Neville Jason – Emergency-Ward 10), as well the muscle of the operation, Torrance (Victor Lucas – The New Statesman).

Together they investigate a wide variety of crimes across Paris including the strangling of a stripper and a very strange case of poisoning. There are appearances by plenty of familiar faces, including Stratford Johns, Leon Cortez, Terence Alexander, Roger Delgado, William Franklyn, Michael Goodliffe, and Barry Foster, among others.

Maigret is an extremely likeable character, compassionate and clever, yet implacable and very proficient at catching the guilty parties. He also has a lovely, gentle sense of humour.

This glorious series has been remastered using original film elements and is presented in the original full-screen TV format. Just as compelling viewing now as it was when it first aired between 1960 and 1969, it’s great to see the return of this much loved adaptation of a beloved detective.

Featuring all 52 episodes as well as a feature length play, this boxset is a must own for fans of the series.

Maigret: The Complete Series is available to preorder now on Standard Edition Blu-ray and DVD and will be released on 25th Oct 2021 exclusively from Network.
