3 Star

Hunt for a Serial Killer.

Serial producer Randall Emmett (2 Guns, 16 Blocks, Righteous Kill, Escape Plan 3, War with Grandpa) turns from a backer into a director in his directorial debut, with this film based on a true story, taken from Texas and transposed to Florida USA. Emmett gets to direct Hollywood A-Listers Bruce Willis (LOOPER, Anti-Life, Extraction, Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For, 16 Blocks) and Megan Fox (Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Not bad for the first time directing.

Pensacola, Florida 2004

Lions are born knowing they are predators, Antelopes understand they are prey, Humans are the only creatures on Earth given a choice.

A concrete salesman is on a long drive and has to take a comfort break. As he looks for a place to stop, there is an announcement of a sixteen-year-old girl who has gone missing. He stops by a little bridge to relieve himself and as he does so he spots something glinting in the sunlight, a crucifix, then a handbag, and an I.D card, then a body.

Twenty-six-year-old Sarah Kellog is the latest victim of a serial killer that has plagued the I10 for the last five years. Soon, the local P.D are on the scene, as is officer Byron (Emile Hirsch, Never Grow Old, Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood, The Autopsy of Jane Doe), who has been following this series of killings of young women who have been abused before death, then the bodies have been displayed in provocative poses in view of the I10. Much to the annoyance of Lieutenant Gilbright (Donovan W. Carter II, Ballers (TV Series)) who wants him to leave it alone because the chances of catching the perpetrator are very low.

We see the girl from the news report leaving a Motel room, looking as if she has taken some substance, as she staggers down the stairs onto the forecourt of a truck stop. With strangers around, it is not long before she noticed, and lewd remarks are being made and suggested until Peter (Lukas Haas, Inception, Transcendence) comes to her rescue, offering a place to sleep and eat with his young daughter Bethany (Olive Elise Abercrombie, The Haunting of Hill House (TV Mini Series)) which she accepts.

Federal officers Karl (Bruce Willis) and Rebecca (Megan Fox) are working to save women that may have been sold into prostitution, they are also working the I10. Rebecca tries to do a sting on one of the guys that prays on the girls, but she gets the wrong guy, as the guy she was after is scared off.

The hunt is on for the Truck-stop killer and can Karl, Byron and Rebecca crack this case, or are there going to be more bodies?
