4 Star

Butts, Boobs and Rivalry.

MVM bring us a titillating nerdy story writen by anime screenwriter Takao Yoshioka (Your Lie in April, High School DxD), and produced by J.C.Staff and directed by Hideki Okamoto (Black Lagoon (TV Series) After War Gundam X (TV Series)). 2.5 give you the chance to nerd out, on your Otaku anime and the delights of Cosplaying your favourite manga/anime character, and all those others that share your passion. Love it.

Masamune Okumura (Jack Stansbury, Ragna Crimson, Urusei Yatsura) is an Otaku ( is a Japanese term for a person with an intense, all-consuming interest in a specific subject, most commonly associated with anime, manga, video games, cosplay), and the thing that fascinates him is Liliel, a character from an older manga and anime, but it is a firm favourite with the Otaku. Okumura is the president, and the only member of the Manga club. He is so in love with the two-Dimensional Liliel that he ignores real life three-Dimensional girls.

I Just want to be rescued.

That is  until first year student Ririsa Amano (Shanae’a Moore, Aoharu x Machinegun, Princess Principal: Crown Handler: Chapter 3), Okumura is not that impresed that a girl would be interested in his club until she spots a DVD of Liliel, and nerds out as Okumura questions her, and puts her through her paces. But she has the trump card i  that she loves to cosplay Liliel, and it just so happens that she has her costume with her.

What? Wait… What you…can’t, with a swift blocking of the windows with a whiteboard, as Amano transforms into Liliel. Okumura is stunnedto say the least, his two-dimensional dream girl has come to life as a real girl. This cannot be happening he thinks, as he sees the embodiment of the love of his life, but he cannot fall for a real girl, but she IS Liliel.

So you want to be out and proud?

You mean it.

I love manga, I love anime, and I love Cosplaying.

She knows all the poses from the manga, and the anime, she wants him to take photos of her as Liliel, as she would love to cosplay Liliel at a CosRom.

With Ririsa being Liliel, Okumura thinks that Ririsa would be a perfect friend and good member of his manga club, even though she is clumsy and has costume failures at inappropriate times.

Okumura finds out that he has another problem, in the shape of model named Mikari Tachibana (Jade Kelly, Urusei Yatsura, Ragna Crimson) who has transfered into Ririsa’s class, and she is here to get into Okumura’s heart, since he saved her from bullies and lower school, but she really hates his obsession with Liliel and his alter ego as Lord Ashford.

I am the pure and honourable Lord Ashford!

Okumura has his work cut out with Ririsa, Mikari, photography, CosRoms and a teacher with a dodgy alterego. Great fun for the cosplay fans.
