When Giants Come Together.
It is Iconic film time from Arrow Video. From writer/director Sergio Leone (A Fistful Of Dynamite (AKA Duck, You Sucker!), Cemetery Without Crosses, A Fist Full of Dollars) comes the second film with the man with no name, For A Few Dollars More. Now releasing on Blu-ray and 4K UHD, this remastered release brings you the full experience of the western and the legendary soundtrack from Ennio Morricone (Space: 1999: Super Space Theater, Revolver). For the fans to update their viewing pleasure, or for those new to this momentous series of these Spaghetti Westerns.
In the distance, a rider speeds across the open plains of the West, a shot rings out and the rider hits the hard dirt dead. Cue the whistling.
Where life had no value, Death sometimes had its price.
That is why “The Bounty Killers” appeared!
A well-dressed man sits on the train reading a bible. He inquires where the train stops and it doesn’t stop where he wants to get off, but it will. This man is Col. Douglas Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef, THE SABATA TRILOGY, High Noon), ex-army, and a crack-shot. He is a bounty hunter, and he is in Tucumcari to collect the bounty.
Manco (Clint Eastwood, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Gran Torino) is also a bounty hunter, who is quick on the draw and deadly with it, as he takes out his bounty and a few extra dollars for his gang members. Meanwhile, in the dead of night, the cold-blooded bank robber, El Indio (Gian Maria Volontè, Cult Spaghetti Westerns: Django, Keoma and A Bullet for the General, A Fistful of Dollars) is broken out of prison by his gang, and the main thing on his mind is finding the man that betrayed him.
El Indio is a smart bandit, back at the prison he left just one guard alive to tell the tale of his escape and the massacre of all at the jail, including the carpenter that was his cell companion.
This puts his bounty up to $10,000 which catches the eyes of the Colonel and Manco. The race is on to get the big bounty, but two into one does not go. How will they solve this dilemma? It’s simple, with guns.
Sit back and enjoy the one-hundred and thirty-two minutes of this restored, much copied, but never surpassed Spaghetti Western.
